We’ll help with the rest.
Roller derby games are called bouts.
Home bouts are one of the most exciting parts of the season, featuring fast skating, hard hits, loud crowds, and a whole lot of team spirit.
Not at all.
Many of our skaters had never worn roller skates before joining the league. We’ll teach you everything from basic skating skills to roller derby strategy at a pace that works for you.
All you need is the willingness to try something new.
Nope.
We have loaner skates and protective gear available for new recruits.
You’ll eventually want your own equipment if you continue skating, but you do not need to invest in expensive gear before trying the sport.
You will need your own mouth guard for safety reasons.
No.
Roller derby is for everyone. The welcome people of all genders, identities, and backgrounds.
Our league is committed to building an inclusive, supportive community on and off the track.

Roller derby is a contact sport, so injuries can happen. Safety and skill development are taken seriously at every level of training.
New skaters learn progressively and are not immediately thrown into contact drills. We focus heavily on safe skating techniques, communication, and proper protective equipment.
That’s okay too.
Roller derby is for all fitness levels, body types, and athletic backgrounds. You do not need to be an athlete before joining. Practices are designed to help you improve over time, and everyone progresses at their own pace.
